There may be doctors in your area participating in a study to measure opioid dependence treatment outcomes. Patients who meet the eligibility requirements to participate in this study can receive up to $225 in compensation to complete surveys about their treatment.

NOTE: This study is only open to patients not currently under the care of a physician for opioid dependence and are seeking a treatment provider.

Kathleen Thompson-Gargano, RN, ADN, CNIIIWe are fortunate to be joined by the Vice President and Co-founder of the National Alliance of Advocates for Buprenorphine Treatment (NAABT)—Kathleen Thompson-Gargano RN, ADN, CNIII, who comes to us from the Yale Buprenorphine and Addiction Research center in Connecticut. She has been active in the field of buprenorphine research since 1997, leading studies, writing training manuals and giving presentations at Yale University. She trained in the US Air Force and served as a Major in the National Guard, leading the very first medical unit into Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of Bridgeport. She is a contributor to the upcoming book on buprenorphine by Dr Richard Gracer titled "A New Prescription for Addiction" which comes out in November 2006.
